Among other things, they shed light on Freud’s therapies in his early years and take a tongue-in-cheek look at the “good old days.” A highlight of the show is their unconventional interpretation of Shakespeare’s balcony scene, in which “Romana & Julius” spontaneously translate it into “Goethe German”—by this point, at the latest, there isn’t a dry eye in the house. They also transform into two old gentlemen who, grumbling and joking, reflect on old age and life, and sing “Weana Hodan” in between.

The show features a classic double-act comedy routine à la Farkas & Waldbrunn with original texts, poems, and stories, interpretations ranging from Qualtinger to Raimund, and jokes from Toni Strobl’s “Spitzbuam”—all accompanied by authentic Viennese zither music from the Muckendorfer Saitenklang featuring Gabi Klausser (zither) and Helmut Klausser (electric guitar).
