From Dance to Art Form

Andrew Dewar, organist at the American Cathedral in Paris, will bring this year’s Organ Summer to a close on the Rudigier organ. His program is dedicated to the chaconne—that form of variation born of dance that has fascinated composers for centuries. From Johann Sebastian Bach to Johann Nepomuk David to Jonathan Dove, Dewar guides the audience through some 350 years of chaconne history—a musical stroll and a dancing finale to the 2026 Organ Summer.
