Cabaret with Andreas Rainer
After successfully remaining anonymous for years, the Viennese everyday poet Andreas Rainer ventured onto the stage for the first time in 2025 - and all the dates were actually sold out.
Using the most popular quotes of the last eight years, he tells the story of Vienna's everyday poets in his programme, why he is only recognized in Graz or in swimming trunks and tries to work out a guide on how to survive the most liveable city in the world.
After all, how can it be that Vienna is both the most liveable and the most unfriendly city in the world? Why do we have the leisure to while away the whole day in a coffee house, but scream in panic for a second checkout when three people are queuing in front of us in the supermarket?
With pictures, texts and quotes from everyday life in Vienna, an evening is spent painting a picture of a city where people throw pomp around while the world is already coming to an end twenty meters away.
