Memories are stirred of a musical and literary era from the late 1960s and early 1970s onward, when solo artists—and a handful of female artists—presented to the public, in a spartan manner, songs they had written, composed, and performed—with the deep, noble, and honorable conviction that they could decisively improve the world, perhaps even save it!

Fifty years later, it is still—or once again—time for these songs, for naturally, our needs and longings, as well as our criticism and accusations regarding certain social and governmental actions, have changed only marginally. The lyrics of these songs could have been written just yesterday!
