Day of the Sword - Reichenstein Castle

08.08.2026 / 13:30- 17:30
Tragwein, Reichenstein Castle in Ruins
Vergnügungsveranstaltung, Vorträge, Seminar, Workshop, Sonstige Vergnügungsveranstaltung

People have been fascinated by swords for a long time. In books and films, swords are wielded by heroes. Children and adults alike are enchanted by the danger of the polished steel, the symbolic power of the European longsword and the elegance of the movements.

On the "Day of the Sword", we want to give space to this fascination. A colorful range of different activities on the subject of the sword will be offered: From presentations from fencing books that are over 600 years old, but also the presentation of a modern sport (HEMA) that uses the sword as a piece of sports equipment, to viewing an original find in the castle museum.

One thing is clear to us: you should have held a sword in your hand at least once in your life. To feel the weight of the blade. Fulfill the desire to let the blade swing.

If you have never held a blade in your hand, then the next opportunity is on Sword Day. Come along and experience the sword.

Come and experience the sword!
We are a group of around 20 people from Switzerland, Germany and Austria who have been meeting once a year at
Reichenstein Castle once a year since 2014. We use the wonderful backdrop of the castle for an
week of intensive training in Spartan style with a lot of effort and little luxury.
