In his works, Wolfgang Maria Reiter always writes the same text that has stayed with him since his early childhood. Due to the constant repetition, the actual content of the text fades into the background, the writing becomes a means of design and writing becomes a repetitive, meditative process. The meaning always resonates, but the central content of the works is the form. Reiter uses the continuous line of letters strung together to create his pictures in different formats by writing. They range from miniatures to three-dimensional written objects, which he folds and shapes from written paper. Wolfgang Maria Reiter writes with wooden sticks and ink on tracing paper. The writing becomes a projection surface for the artist's feelings and moods; Norbert Trawöger calls his works "seismographic calligraphies".
