When the Querschläger began their musical journey in Lungau in 1990, it was not yet foreseeable that they would become one of the most independent formations on the local music scene

What began as an insider tip has developed over more than three decades, more than 900 concerts and countless stages into a cult band that consistently defies pigeonholing.

Independent of record companies and fashionable trends, the Querschläger have developed their very own style: Dialect music with lyrical depth, combined with musical cabaret, subtle humor and surprising seriousness. Characteristic is the deliberate clash of opposites - musically, linguistically and in terms of content - from which something independent of great emotional power emerges.

In their songs, well-known musical set pieces from blues, rock, folk and folk music are re-contextualized and filled with stories, characters and observations from everyday life. Time and again, the concept of home takes center stage - between idyll and reality, melancholy and analysis, satire and seriousness. All of this is presented in the Lungau dialect of the inner mountains, without pointing a finger, but with great closeness to the people.

This universe unfolds its full power live: with almost 30 instruments, linked by the legendary "Gschichtln" by singer Fritz Messner, the boundaries between concert and cabaret become blurred. An evening between laughter and reflection - and a ricochet concert in the best sense of the word.
