Marktküche Steyr - when top chefs bring the weekly market to life

Marktküche Steyr is a new culinary experience format on Steyr's town square.

From April to September 2026, outstanding chefs will be cooking live at the Leopoldi Fountain - mainly using fresh ingredients directly from the weekly market.

Seasonal, regional, creative: the market kitchen turns the Steyr weekly market into an experience for all the senses.

Whether gourmet cuisine, creative street food or avant-garde natural cuisine - each event brings a different culinary approach to the town square.

The dishes are deliberately designed as smaller, surprising creations: a low-threshold introduction to extraordinary cuisine that can otherwise often only be experienced in high-end restaurants.

Dates 2026:

- Sat, June 20: Market kitchen with "Roland cooks"

- Sat, August 22: Market cuisine with Theresia Palmetzhofer

- Sat, September 19: Market cuisine with Klemens Gold (RAU - nature based cuisine)

All events take place on Saturdays from 11 am to 2 pm. A bad weather option is available.
