The brothers Claus and Erich Frauenberger have been making music since their early youth. Over twenty-five years ago, the two decided to try their hand at busking under the name “Virginia Two.” Since then, they have been performing their own interpretations of well-known older songs from the country and rock ’n’ roll genres. Even at the start of their musical career together, their choice of instruments was unusual. While Erich performed the songs on guitar and vocals, Claus backed him up on the tenor horn or trumpet. Songs featuring two guitars, harmonies, and Erich on the harmonica expanded their repertoire.

Over time, Claus discovered his passion for the keyboard, and so many songs were rearranged. Later, Claus and Erich received musical support from family and friends. Thus, the band name “Virginia Two” was expanded to include “Friend” or “Friend’s.” Depending on the “Friend’s” availability, the band’s size varies during performances. A very enduring friendship has developed with their double bassist, Herbert Adelsberger, who has been accompanying them for eight years now. Many of their songs have a sound all their own—the “Virginia Two” sound. Together, they continually take on hits, arranging them in their own style and performing them as a group.
