Richard Ward exhibition - opening hours Tuesday and Saturday 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Can a painting be abstract and representational at the same time? When looking at the paintings of artist Richard Ward, this thought comes to mind. And if you look a second, third or more times, pictorial spaces open up that the viewer had not even hoped to discover.Born in Oxford, England, in 1958, Ward studied philosophy at Trinity College, Cambridge, in the 1970s before working in gardens and later finding his way to painting. Ward now lives in Dießen am Ammersee (Germany).
Richard Ward is an exceptional painter. His works seem to have fallen out of time. They are powerful, luminous, very sensual and multi-layered. Ward's perception and his feeling for pictorial space are special. Because he is a fantastic observer and thinker.
