Fête de la MusiqueThe whole town is a stage. Gmunden rolls out the red carpet again in 2026 for more than 100 musicians and dancers and promises to be a huge street music festival with free admission.
Friday, June 19, 2026, 5 p.m. to midnight - Gmunden town center
More than 30 music groups and numerous solo artists will perform in Gmunden's public squares and turn the whole town into a dance floor. From folk music and classical music to rock and jazz to dance groups and DJs playing in the open air, there are special treats for the whole audience to suit every taste. Of course, this also applies to the culinary offerings in the surrounding bars and restaurants, which leave nothing to be desired and also present and serve their cuisine outdoors.
The Fête de la Musique (French for '[the] festival of music') is an event at which artists of all musical genres and all levels of training perform free of charge. It takes place every year at the beginning of summer. The event began in 1982 as a street festival in Paris and is now considered the largest music festival in the world. The Fête de la Musique is held in over 500 cities worldwide, including more than 300 in Europe.
We are looking forward to the 2026 event!
