Carmina Burana

Carmina Burana  Carl Orff (1895-1982). Secular songs for singers and choirs, accompanied by instruments and magical images.

Various life situations are depicted and musically interpreted in 24 pictures. The composition (1936) is based on medieval texts in Latin, Middle High German and Old French. In addition to the choir and children's choir as well as three soloists, two pianos and a large percussion ensemble are the central protagonists of the concert performance in the impressive ambience of Austria's largest church.

The net proceeds of the concert will go to Pro Mariendom and thus to the restoration and preservation of the Mariendom in Linz.
