Reading: Of hells and wonders and other curiosities

16.04.2026 / 19:00- 20:30
St. Gilgen, Zinkenbacher Artists`Colony
Vorträge, Lesung

Reading with music at the Kulturhaus St. Gilgen.
Read by Christoph Janacs & Thomas Schallaböck.

With Höllen und Wunder, Christoph Janacs presents over 80 prose poems and dialogs, literary gems, poetic, political, often melancholic, often (even) ironic and sarcastic and full of allusions to well-known and lesser-known poets. What he began in 2010 with Eulen and continued in 2024 with die Stille nach dem Doppelpunkt (Silence after the colon) now comes to a head here, forming a kind of sum of his thinking and writing in resistance - against fascism, bigotry, the thoughtless use of language, and for being obtuse - and for homelessness. On this evening, Janacs will read samples from Höllen und Wunder and die Stille nach dem Doppelpunkt. He will be accompanied by the singer Thomas Schallaböck, known as a medieval bard, on strange, little-known instruments. Don't miss this trip to hell through the abysses of the human soul!
