The Pfenningberg trails in Steyregg are among the first officially approved and sustainably created mountain bike single trail infrastructures in the Linz region and the Mühlviertel. The HomeTrails were planned in close cooperation between the local community and the landowners and then realized entirely by hand, offering an attractive, varied and nature-loving mountain bike experience on a legal basis.
The Pfenningberg trails include different single trail sections with varying degrees of difficulty: from the easier Dachs Trail for beginners and children to more technically challenging routes such as the Hornissen and Salamander Trail for advanced bikers.
On guided tours, participants experience the varied trails under expert guidance and learn how to ride safely and sustainably off-road at the same time. The offers can be individually adapted to the riding ability of the group or the respective individual - ideal for mountain bike beginners as well as experienced trail fans.
In addition to the trail experience in nature, the focus is on optional riding technique training and coaching sessions, in which topics such as correct braking technique, cornering and center of gravity and weight shifting are practiced. These training sessions are particularly suitable for preparing for more technically demanding sections and for improving personal riding technique in general.
The courses are suitable for mountain bikes and e-bikes and offer an ideal introduction to the world of trail riding as well as new challenges for experienced bikers.
The Pfennigberg trails are used in compliance with fair play rules and the operator's ecological guidelines. Responsible use is paramount: respect for nature, the trail operators, other users, managers and owners is a top priority.
Correct behavior on the trail and bike safety are the focus of certified UpperTrails bike schools, which are authorized to hold riding technique and tour guiding events.
In addition to the offer, trail building workshops are also possible, where interested parties can acquire practical knowledge about sustainable trail building, trail maintenance and the respectful treatment of nature.
We work exclusively with UpperTrails certified guides, bike schools and trainers. Please note that offers with other providers on the trails are held without legal basis, as well as without insurance (!) and without agreement with the local mountain bike community.

Technical courses and guided tours can be booked for individuals and groups. The prices depend on the respective guide. Exact prices and offers are calculated individually or are based on wishes, ideas, duration and number of people and are discussed in advance.
As a rule, the following guideline applies:
Not suitable for wheelchairs. The property is not compliant with Austria's ÖNORM legal standard.
The trails were developed in-house by the local bike community. They are therefore unfortunately not suitable for aMTBs (adaptive MTBs, trike bikes, etc.).
