Gerhard Breindl: Encounters

Travel and the desire to experience new things are now an integral part of many people’s lives, especially those in developed regions around the world.

While travel was once reserved for only a few wealthy individuals, the development of modern transportation has opened up opportunities for many. The motivations are, on the one hand, (supposed) relaxation and, on the other hand, (in general) getting to know foreign countries and cultures. This generally refers to impressive natural wonders and historical architecture and works of art. Only very rarely do travelers focus their attention on the people living in the countries they visit.
