Lecture by Johannes Aitzetmüller

Filmmaker and cinematographer Johannes Aitzetmüller shares his experiences in the most remote places on Earth. His camera has already taken him to the most remote and extreme filming locations: Antarctica, the Arctic, Siberia, Pakistan—and time and again to the Alps near his home. Places that are harsh, inhospitable, and unforgiving—where cold, storms, and isolation leave no room for error. And yet that is precisely what makes them so irresistibly alluring.

The audience experiences what it means to travel through such wilderness—pulling 100-kilo sleds through snow deserts, facing avalanches with no chance of rescue, dealing with frozen cameras and crashed drones. But encounters with indigenous cultures, communal life in tents, and athletic feats such as first ascents and first descents are also part of his stories.

“Where No One Films—Except Me” offers unique behind-the-scenes insights into modern expedition films and takes visitors on adventures that push the limits of the human body, technology, and the imagination.
