Strau$$ – A Little Dance Between the Chairs
That the waltz-drunk "Duidu, Duidu" and its relaxed counterpart "Dudidubidu" are really only a cat's leap apart, not much more than "a warm embracing dance away" from each other – this has been clear to the masters of Mnozil Brass for ages. For more than thirty years, the seven experts have been shifting effortlessly and with their dazzling brass instruments between Johann Strauss and Frank Sinatra, between Shostakovich and Prince, or just as passionately from Schubert to their relatives from Queen. The solemn grandeur of one side concerns them as little as the supposed banality of the other.
But Strauss – who was fervently admired by Brahms, Wagner, and Verdi, as well as the craftsmen and the girls from the suburbs (and even a Gershwin) – was the original father of nonchalant dancing between the chairs. Strauss was the first to produce hits at an astonishing pace, he hired an arranger to work faster, and he understood that he could reproduce his sound globally with his brothers. He was the first to merge high and low art and became a mass phenomenon as the waltz king – sweet were the chimes of cash registers. In Strau$$, Mnozil Brass truly reveals everything about Strauss. Even the last thing.
In the end, nothing remains but the naked truth.

Mnozil Brass
The inn Mnozil is located in the 1st district of Vienna. Directly opposite the music academy. Fortunately, in 1992, seven young brass players came together for regular musicians’ gatherings at Josef Mnozil. From classical folk music, applied brass music soon emerged, played essentially without sheet music, suitable for all occasions: typical brass band music, hits, jazz and pop music, opera, and operetta. Without fear, criticism, or reservations, but with a lot of Viennese charm and great sophistication.
Mnozil Brass now performs around 100 concerts a year worldwide: across all of Europe as well as in Israel, Russia, China, Taiwan, Japan, Canada, America, and Australia. They fill venues such as the Burgtheater in Vienna, the KKL in Lucerne, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, the Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum, the opera houses of Munich, Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, and Leipzig, the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus, and the Berliner Ensemble. They also fill the inn Mnozil, but differently.
