The most beautiful place in the world - as the famous writer Marlen Haushofer once said - is a mountain meadow. These meadows tell of earlier cultivation and are exceptionally rich in species: colorful flowers, dancing butterflies, busy bees - a humming and buzzing concert of diversity and an experience for all the senses. Today, such meadows are rare, endangered habitats.
In the Kalkalpen National Park, meadows and alpine pastures are nestled in a sea of forest. On this tour, we discover together how they were created, how their biodiversity is maintained and which plants and animals feel particularly at home there.
