Love! (first of all yourself)
An evening with Stefan Jürgens is essentially a total work of art. The actor, songwriter, and entertainer offers his audience a constant whirl of highly emotional songs with fantastic lyrics, profound poetry, biting stand-up comedy, and a soothing self-irony. As a founding member of the legendary RTL Saturday Night, a TATORT and SOKO WIEN/DONAU commissioner, theater actor, and musician with seven solo albums so far, Stefan Jürgens joyfully and skillfully draws from all his richly filled pots amassed over more than 30 years in his stage performances.
Love! Is his antidote in an increasingly serious time. Love! And also love yourself! In times of general readiness for action, Jürgens prefers to find the way back to the inner childhood room, where laughter resides and adventurousness thrives. As the self-ironic excursions into his now 60-year life story show, he never intended to grow up anyway. For even regarding true masculinity, Jürgens has quite unique views.
Here stands a person on stage who is very familiar with the lows of everyday existence yet does not shy away from very big feelings. His songs are hymns to life, touching and enticing his audience toward optimism and zest for life. Stefan Jürgens is accompanied by Matthias Kahra (guitar, vocals). Look forward to an extraordinary, human evening after the successful tours "What Counts" and "So Many Colors": "Love!" You can look forward to a special, heartfelt evening. It will do you good. Promised.
Stefan Jürgens
Stefan Jürgens (* February 26, 1963, in Unna) completed a three-and-a-half-year training as a performer at the Westphalian Acting School in Bochum from 1983 to 1986.
Subsequently, he received engagements at various theaters including Schauspielhaus Bochum, Theater Dortmund, Theater des Westens in Berlin, Bremer Theater am Goetheplatz, and Schauspiel Köln, until he gained nationwide fame in 1993 with the legendary comedy show RTL Saturday Night. The television show aired from 1993 to 1998 and is still regarded as the most successful German comedy show.
Afterward, he portrayed the Berlin Tatort commissioner Robert Hellmann in six episodes and participated in numerous national and international TV and film productions, before taking on the lead role of Carl Ribarski in the German-Austrian production Soko Wien/Donau from 2007 to 2021.
In addition to acting, Stefan Jürgens also pursues a career as a songwriter and musician. Since 2002, he has released seven solo albums. After his successful concert evenings “What Counts” and “So Many Colors”, he will go on tour in Germany and Austria starting in 2025 with “LOVE”.
For his achievements, the actor and musician has received numerous prestigious awards. These include the Bavarian Television Award, the Bambi, the Golden Lion, and the Austrian Romy. For his portrayal of General Harras in Carl Zuckmayer's “The Devil’s General,” he received the Austrian Nestroy Theater Prize in 2022.
“...one wonders why the 60-year-old took so long to reveal himself. As a reflective songwriter with fantastic lyrics and an impressive feel for subtle melodies, he knows how to convince and inspire.” — Bonner Generalanzeiger
“The artistic complete package of Jürgens also includes his art on the piano. How he accompanies his singing on the 88 keys places him on par with the great Konstantin Wecker…” — Siegener Rundschau
