Maikonzerte der Linzer Magistratsmusik

The "Magistratsmusik der Stadt Linz" is a municipal music ensemble consisting of nine musicians and, under the direction of bandmaster Christian Pirklbauer, provides an appealing musical backdrop for official celebrations of the city

Every year in May, Magistratsmusik opens the "Word & Sound" series of events, which invites you to concerts in the open air in the Linz Botanical Garden.

The program includes a colorful mix of traditional folk music and modern light music.

The Magistratsmusik concerts only take place in fine weather!
Cost: admission to the Botanical Garden only 

The diverse performances of the Linz Magistratsmusik include openings, ground-breaking and topping-out ceremonies, concerts, farewells to prominent personalities and inaugurations of new buildings and monuments. The Magistratsmusik can also be heard in the Donaupark music pavilion and at events at Linz markets or in senior citizens' centers, and is a member of the Upper Austrian Wind Music Association Linz City.
