The ensemble will present a new programme that will be heard in this form for the first time. Their first joint concert was sold out and a resounding success, which is why this evening is also expected to be a special musical experience.
Bella Via – a musical journey full of emotion
When guitarist Diknu Schneeberger and accordionist Christian Bakanic play together, virtuosity meets joy of playing. With their quartet – Martin Heinzle on double bass and Julian Wohlmuth on rhythm guitar – they have been thrilling audiences for years on major stages such as the Brucknerhaus Linz and the Wiener Konzerthaus. Their new programme ‘Bella Via’ (‘beautiful way’) is a musical journey from the Alps via Italy to distant lands. They combine tango, gypsy jazz, Balkan and world music in surprising ways: an alpine dance suddenly becomes a Latin number, a tango resounds on the Styrian harmonica.
The result is a rousing mix of energy, emotion and joie de vivre – sometimes virtuosic, sometimes touchingly quiet. By the end, at the latest with their own version of ‘Besame mucho’, you feel that you don't want this journey to end.
