Opening of the special exhibition 2026 as part of the COMMUNALE OÖ:
"REBELS! The Black Peasants of Weiberau - Their Motives and Destinies in the Upper Austrian Peasant War"
The Haager Heimatmuseum, under the two curators Kons. Mag. Irene and Kons. Christian Keller, is organizing a regional exhibition that depicts the events of that time in our area:
The key figures: Achaz Wiellinger, Alexander Knasmüller, and the caregiver Maria Finckh at Schloss Starhemberg.
The events around Schloss Starhemberg during the invasion of the Passau war troops in 1620, in the peasant war year of 1626, and during the Greimblauf uprising in 1632. Weiberau as a collection and training camp for the "black peasants".
The battle at Kornrödt between Haag, Geiersberg, and Pram in September 1626.
The special exhibition runs from May 10 to October 26, 2026.
