Brass Music goes Hollywood
“When Peter O’Toole’s gaze drifts over the sand dunes, when Clint Eastwood squints his eyes before drawing his Colt, when Harrison Ford navigates the Millennium Falcon through an asteroid field, then it is not just images that arise in our heads, the corresponding music also resonates in our mind's ear. In our new program, we take on the great masters of film music, from John Barry to Henry Mancini, through Alan Silvestri and Ennio Morricone to John Williams. Experience the unmistakable sound of the brass music supergroup and let us take you on a journey into endless expanses, old and new worlds, on this and other planets!”
— Thomas Gansch
Brass Music Supergroup
The Brass Music Supergroup — made up of musicians from the Vienna Philharmonic, Egerländer Musikanten, Mnozil Brass, Federspiel, da Blechhauf’n, Kapelle So&So, Viera Blech, Kärntner Symphony Orchestra, United Stage Orchestra — is a project initiated by Thomas Gansch to demonstrate that brass music has much to say. Brass music is lived togetherness. It is an instrument of immense integration power and a crucial common denominator in times of social division. And it is more than party music that one sings along to forget everyday life after extensive beer consumption.
