About the movie:
Carl Kollhoff, a reclusive bookseller, personally delivers books to his regular customers every day. Through the unexpected company of nine-year-old Schascha, he slowly finds his way out of his isolation, while both enrich their lives and those of their fellow human beings with the power of books and friendship.

Day after day, Carl Kollhoff stands in the back room of a bookstore, carefully wrapping books in paper to deliver them to regular customers in the city.

Books are the greatest happiness of the taciturn, elderly man, who otherwise shies away from any contact with other people. On one of his rounds, nine-year-old Schascha follows in his footsteps. Carl reluctantly gets involved with the girl, who from then on accompanies him on his errands and calls him the
calls him the "book walker". Schascha quickly wins the hearts of Carl's regular customers and not only upsets their lives, but also makes Carl break out of his own world.
