Experience wild fishing and regionality up close with Mayr Professional Fishing. Professional fishing is one of the oldest crafts in the world, practiced by only a few today. What it means to catch fish with a net, how fishermen learn to live with nature, and the value of wild catch—Benjamin Mayr tries to convey this and much more to his guests during his fishing tours. The tour starts at the authentic fishing hut on the eastern shore of Lake Traunsee, where there is a short introduction to professional fishing. Then it's out onto the lake in the fishing boat. Fishing nets are lifted and the biodiversity of Lake Traunsee is demonstrated. Back at the hut, fish traps are pulled up and crab fishing is demonstrated. Right in front of the cozy fishing hut, four different dishes are prepared from the freshly caught wild fish. Dishes such as charcoal-grilled perch with fresh bread, grilled crayfish, and char ceviche are prepared right in front of the guests. It is particularly important to us to showcase the regionality and quality of wild-caught fish and to share with our guests the passion we have for our profession.
