"Miniatures from hospital life and the everyday life of a Viennese dermatologist. Insights into the bodies and souls of strangers who become acquaintances over the years. A sex-obsessed fireman, a hundred-year-old cyclist with far-reaching plans for the future, an empathetic newspaper seller from India - they all have their say and share their fears and hopes with the doctor, who briefly becomes a patient herself. The settings outside the outpatient clinic include the State Opera, the Viennese wine tavern and places from a bygone era."

About Claudia Hock
Claudia Hock can look back on thirty years of work as a hospital doctor, most recently twenty years as head of a dermatology outpatient clinic. She took part in the "stroblschreibt" writing competition in 2024 with her story "Das Haus verlassen". The text was selected by the jury as one of the three winning texts.
