Monument Day at the Münsteuer parish church on September 28, 2025

1300 years of faith and culture - this motto describes the historical significance of the Münsteuer parish church near Reichersberg, which dates back to the early eighth century. In the middle of the small village stands the imposing tuff stone building from the Gothic period, containing important, partly unknown, works of art from the Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque periods.

Focus and program

Preserving this rich cultural heritage is a major challenge for the small parish community of just over a hundred souls.
The main topic on Monument Day is the badly damaged Gothic door of the south portal "Carpentry meets restoration science": Ms. Fischbacher from Vienna presents a newly developed restoration process together with master carpenter Rammerstorfer from Andrichsfurt.

In addition, guided tours will be offered at 13:00 and 15:00 under the motto " The devil is in the detail".
GUIDED TOURS will be offered.
These tours begin with a few pieces on the baroque Egedacher organ from 1712, followed by a tour of the church's rich artistic decoration, with a special focus on the 600-year-old baptismal font with its mysterious pictorial program.

The church is open on Monument Day from 12:30 to 17:00 !
