The artistic exploration of complex forms at the Hirschbach Farmhouse Furniture Museum.

From August 17 to October 26, 2025, the Hirschbach Farmhouse Furniture Museum will be showing the special exhibition Richard Wall: Early Drawings & Watercolors - The Artistic Exploration of Complex Forms.

The Freunde der Hirschbacher Bauernmöbel association cordially invites you to the exhibition opening on August 17, 2025, at 3:00 pm.
Ernst Hager will speak about the exhibition and the event will be accompanied by music from the FairyTunes.

About the exhibition:

The artist Richard Wall, born in Engerwitzdorf in 1953, is showing early drawings and watercolors as a result of his intensive examination of the complex forms of a landscape - especially the Mühlviertel -, a figure or a still life. His current "second drawings" are also part of the exhibition - spontaneous snapshots full of expression.

Richard Wall studied at the University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz and works as a visual artist, author and cultural mediator.

They are often "meditations" that were brought to paper with the simplest of means through direct observation, in which the dimension of "time" seemed to be suspended during the work.
Richard Wall, born in 1953, studied at the University of Art and Industrial Design (now the University of Art and Design Linz). He writes poetry, essays and narrative prose. As a visual artist, he works in the fields of collage, painting and drawing.
First exhibitions from the end of the 1970s. After participating in the competition "Future: Vision - Fear - Utopia" organized by the cultural department of the Upper Austrian provincial government, his mixed media work "In the Name of Freedom and Justice" was shortlisted and exhibited alongside works by Gunter Damisch, Wolf Ruprecht, Therese Eisenmann, Wolfgang Hemelmayr and others in the gallery of the Upper Austrian Art Association. He is a member of the artist groups CART & Sinnenbrand (Peter Assmann, Paul Jaeg, Ferdinand Götz, Richard Wall) and has participated in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, such as at Blatná Castle, South Bohemia, at the Municipal Gallery in Pilsen (2002), at Galerie Forum Wels (2014 & 2024), in the Berchtholdvilla Salzburg (2015), in the Schlossmuseum Linz ("Kultur braucht Kunst", 2020), BuchKunstBiennale XV in Horn (2022 & 2024) etc.
Last solo exhibitions to date: A retrospective for his 70th birthday at Galerie CART in Pregarten (2023), and in March 2025 at Hofkabinett Linz.
