She has been on stage with the same band for over a decade - a collective that now plays so closely interwoven that each note grows almost organically from the next. For "Goodbye Small Head", their latest album, now their tenth, the ensemble dares to do more than ever before: eight songs are carried by a string quartet, electronic details add unusual accents, and yet this familiar, direct energy keeps bursting forward. The sound is cinematic, intense - somewhere between indie rock, glam and punk. Liberating, angry and deeply human. It is music that allows closeness without ever becoming pleasing. Music that always tells a story, alternating between delicate, orchestral moments and powerful outbursts: of vulnerability, the urge for freedom and the courage to push boundaries.
At the same time, "Goodbye Small Head" sounds timeless and like an era that has left its mark on the sound: the 1990s as a resonance chamber, as a reference and as an attitude. The fact that behind this is an artist whose life is just as multi-layered as her music can be felt in every line, in every sound - without it ever becoming blatant.
It has also been almost ten years since she last played at the Posthof. What has happened in the meantime is now condensed into a new evening that not only welcomes the audience musically, but also takes them on a journey. A journey that moves between euphoria and melancholy, between crackling live energy and quiet, intense moments.
