Day of the Sword at Reichenstein Castle

People have been fascinated by swords for a long time. In books and films, swords are wielded by heroes. Children and adults alike are enchanted by the danger of the sharpened steel, the symbolic power of the European longsword and the elegance of the movements. On "Sword Day", we want to give space to this fascination. A colorful range of different activities on the subject of the sword will be offered: From presentations from old fencing books that are over 600 years old, but also the presentation of a modern sport (HEMA) that uses the sword as a piece of sports equipment, to viewing an original find in the castle museum. One thing is clear to us: you should have held a sword in your hand at least once in your life. To feel the weight of the blade. Experience the desire to let the blade swing. For fencers

Come along and fence with us, the participants of the fencing week. The castle offers a wonderful backdrop, on several levels and in different rooms there is enough space for all kinds of fencing pleasures: free fencing and technical exchange is possible throughout.

Of course, you can also take part in the rest of the program, attend workshops, test your skills, watch and join in. A short visit to the castle museum on the subject of the castle as a habitat is certainly worth a detour.

Enjoy food and drinks, the (hopefully) sunshine and a cozy get-together. We look forward to seeing you.

On Saturday evening there will be the "Vinathek", our afterparty at the castle with danceable music, drinks, live music and campfire + fire show.

On Sunday there will again be workshops/trainings that you can attend: Joint mobilization in the morning, technical training, sparring & cut testing.

Bring: Fencing equipment, swimwear (if you want to take a short dip in the Waldaist after moving), sun protection

Overnight stay: With tent or caravan etc. possible from Saturday to Sunday on the meadow of the castle. We ask you not to arrive earlier. There is a fireplace and a porta-potty (the castle's toilet facilities can also be used).

Catering: There is the possibility to eat with the fencing week crew.
