Federspiel: Us and now

After more than two decades, the means of the mixed wind section have blossomed: Inclusion instead of demonstration, light-footed virtuosity instead of ostentatious acrobatics. They eschew pompous posturing in favor of thought-provoking and touching compositions. That is what characterizes Federspiel. And that is exactly what Wir und Jetzt is. As part of the European Brass Band Championships, the Austrian brass band presents itself in a class of its own, combining the new and the traditional, the played and the sung, lightness and depth in equal measure in its playing.
