He was the violin star of the 17th century. After the avant-garde 3rd sonata in his collection, the master adds another shovelful. In the 6th sonata, the violinist has to change instruments in the middle of the piece and continue playing in scordatura (detuning the violin). The 8th sonata is a trio sonata for 2 violins and basso continuo, but it is performed by one player. This borders on magic. The Salzburg lute consort, violone, organ and harpsichord provide lush tonal colors and sonorous music-making.
