"Dona nobis pacem" - this is the subtitle of the third symphony by Upper Austrian composer Helmut Rogl. "Give us your peace". A wish that can sound like a tragic plea in this day and age, regardless of any religiousness. Our world needs peace. Music can inspire people to do so. This world premiere is accompanied by Franz Schubert's last mass. An incredibly bold work, with which Franz Schubert frees himself from the harmonies of classical music and opens the gates to Romanticism wide open. With its dimensions and demands (large orchestra, large choir, five vocal soloists), this work goes beyond the boundaries of mass compositions and is therefore less suited to the church, but ideally suited to the stage of the Brucknerhaus Linz.
