With works by Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadé Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven, violinist Yuki Serino and Martin Nöbauer on the fortepiano will transport you to the soundscapes of Viennese classical music.
In the Viennese Classical period, the sonata became the most important genre of instrumental music and found diverse forms of expression in compositions by Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadé Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven. Haydn initially composed his two-movement sonata in E flat minor for violin and piano, later reworking it into a piano trio. The biblical title "Jacob's Dream" refers to the second movement, in which the violin soars to ethereal heights as if on a ladder to heaven. Beethoven's 'Kreutzer' Sonata, written almost ten years later, again interprets the genre as a furious virtuoso piece - tendencies that can also be heard in his dramatic Sonata No. 7 in C minor. Mozart completes the program with his expressive variations on the French song Au bord d'une fontaine.Untere Donaulände 7, 4010 Linz
