Nestled in the marvellous landscape along the banks of the River Traun, the Austrian Papermaking Museum in Steyrermühl invites you on a journey of discovery through the ‘Old Factory’, where paper and pulp were produced for over 100 years. This makes it a top excursion destination in the Upper Austrian Salzkammergut for schools, families and travelling groups. Visitors can experience paper production up close: from the very beginnings to the present day.

Arrival from Gmunden:
by bus 505:
Boarding at the Gmunden A/Bahn station stop at 10:33 a.m
Arrival in Stadl-Paura at the Stadl-Paura Gmundner Straße stop at 11:10 a.m. After a short walk you reach the horse center and can enjoy lunch in the Gasthaus 7er Stall, walk along the Traun to the Trinity Church or to the impressive Lambach Abbey before the tour of the horse center starts at 2:00 p.m.

Arrival from Vorchdorf:
with the Vorchdorfer Bahn 160:
Boarding at Vorchdorf train station at 11:54 a.m
Arrival at the train station in Lambach at 12:19 p.m., then approx. 20 minutes walk to the horse center or continue by bus 505 to the Stadl-Paura Gmundner Straße stop with arrival at 12:50 p.m.
