Amphitrio is a contemporary jazz project that was founded in 2020 and consists of
the pianist and composer Andrei Petrache, the bassist Mike Alex and the
drummer Philip Goron. All members are musicians with a solid foundation in classical and alternative music.
The story of this trio tells of friendship, the joy of playing and improvising in a well-rehearsed group, although each member is active in several other projects at the same time.
The repertoire of Amphitrio consists of original pieces written by Andrei Petrache, set in the field of modern jazz and influenced by contemporary Nordic jazz as well as Balkan oriental colors, with elements of
heavy rock and electronic music.
With the release of their two debut albums "Points" and "Seasons" (2023), Amphitrio began to explore further subgenres in the electro-groove field, further expanding their creative horizons. With the launch of their third album "Timelines" (2024), the trio is once again expanding their stylistic spectrum.
The international tour "What Freedom Sounds Like", which took place in October-November 2024, marks the trio's first appearance on jazz stages in Europe and Asia.
Amphitrio performs in Berlin, Baku, Vienna, Bratislava, Brno, Belgrade, Sofia, Budapest, Krakow, Aalborg, Cologne, Frøstrup and Mönchengladbach.
