NATURAL SPECTACLE: INKAGOLD IN THE MÜHLVIERTEL

We meet up with Rain man, Shaolin, Thor and Corazon, our woolly companions, in the Pesenbachtal nature reserve. After getting to know each other, we find out how and why alpacas came to the Mühlviertel from the Andes. During our two-hour hike, we not only learn impressive facts about our companions, which were domesticated in South America 6,000 years ago, but also how the exchange of animals and plants between natural areas, and even between continents, has always taken place.

We take turns guiding the "dolphins in woolly pyjamas" through the diverse nature of the nature reserve and also hike along the Donausteig trail. The gentle pace of the animals sharpens our view of the natural treasures, while we become part of the herd structure and learn how to use our body language correctly.
