The renowned “Rock Professor” and cult director Rudi Dolezal presents his latest program “100 Years of AUSTROPOP – World Famous in Austria…” and takes the audience on an exciting journey through the history of Austropop.

About the Program:

Rudi Dolezal, who has been a director and companion to the biggest stars of Austropop for over 40 years, presents fascinating anecdotes, unpublished videos, and live concert recordings in this unique show. Artists like Wolfgang Ambros, Wanda, Rainhard Fendrich, Christina Stürmer, Falco, and many others are among his long-time companions.

The program is based on Dolezal's book “The History of Austropop in 20 Songs” (Servus Verlag) and combines reading, free storytelling, and videos into an unforgettable experience. “The mix of spoken word, music, and visual highlights creates a special flow that will captivate the audience!” says Rudi Dolezal about his new program. This was confirmed by the enthusiastic audience at the premiere on October 24, 2024, at the Vienna Vindobona!

Why “100 Years”?

Rudi Dolezal explains: “Austrian artists like Hermann Leopoldi, Pirron & Knapp, Kurt Sowinetz, and Helmut Qualtinger laid the foundation for what we later called Austropop. Their works form the humus for this musical movement that has been enchanting people for a century.”
