The once Güldene Märktl Weyer - a vibrant center of iron transport - has an eventful history.
As part of the rehabilitation guests program, a market walk through the market Weyer takes place.
In the 15th and 16th centuries, the Güldene Märktl Weyer had a similar significance in iron production as the iron city of Steyr. In the following years, the place established itself primarily in wood processing and as a prestigious summer retreat. The once Güldene Märktl Weyer – a vibrant center of iron transport – has a dynamic history to tell. Shaped by Turkish sieges, fires, the Reformation and Counter-Reformation, and the families of hammer lords, their traces are still clearly felt in the market’s image today.
