The newcomer's music is a fresh and simple pop-rap melange. Good vibes only, which the Villach native also radiates live. His stage name is pronounced (/biː eɪ 'siː/).

bac (pronounced bi ey ßi) from Villach, is just 19 years young and has stormed the viral Spotify Top 50 charts throughout the DACH region with his music in no time at all.

Samuel Bach aka. bac was born in Ethiopia in 2005 and grew up with his German adoptive parents in Villach, Austria. At home, he listens to Michael Jackson, learns the piano and plays football - there's not much else in Villach. At school, someone listens to German rap on the AirPods and Samuel is hooked.

At the age of 14, Samuel writes his first song lyrics. His parents set the ball rolling, albeit unintentionally. One day, when the screen time limit is reached, they have had enough and take Samuel's mobile phone away. The teenager is left with nothing but a pen, a sheet of paper and his melodies. He kept at it and released his first tracks on trap beats two years later. He continued to tinker with his sound. In the digital space, he meets producer alfons, who finds the perfect counterpart in bac. In spring 2024, they set off on a joint songwriting trip to Gran Canaria.

At the end of November, bac rounded off this extremely successful year 2024 with the EP "Manchmal so, manchmal so". "The common thread is that there is no common thread," he says of his debut. The 19-year-old allows opposing facets of his emotional range to coexist freely; he doesn't want to have to choose between rap and pop, between good vibes and melancholy. What he likes is not either - or, but: Sometimes like this, sometimes like that. "Just do what you feel like doing, when you feel like doing it and don't think too much," says bac.

In his new single "Rosaroter Tee", the musician with Ethiopian roots exudes a positive lightness and heart-warming confidence in his fresh and straightforward manner. Even before the release, several videos went viral on his social media channels and have already reached a total of several million views.

Samuel already has a clear idea of where his path will take him in 2025: Making more music, with more people. And finally attending a concert as an audience member himself.
