The Schloss Parz Gallery is pleased to present MUNTEAN/ROSENBLUM, one of the most significant artist duos of contemporary art, with a comprehensive exhibition. From Monday, June 2 to Sunday, July 13, 2025, 46 works will be on display – including large-format paintings, drawings, and mixed-media works.

Markus Muntean (Graz, 1962) and Adi Rosenblum (Haifa, 1962) have been collaborating as a duo since 1992. Their works have been exhibited in prominent institutions such as Tate Britain, the Albertina Vienna, the Städel Museum Frankfurt, and the Essl Museum. They combine classical image compositions with symbols of pop culture, reflecting themes like identity, melancholy, and self-presentation.

Typical of their works are young people in seemingly everyday situations – and yet nothing about them is banal. Their gestures evoke historical paintings, while contemporary clothing and aphoristic captions create a double readability. The works refuse clear interpretations and open emotional, often disturbing spaces.

The exhibition in Grieskirchen invites you to discover this complex visual language – between Renaissance quotations and contemporary ennui, between Baroque drama and Instagram aesthetics. Muntean/Rosenblum show us a world full of ambiguity, where beauty, emptiness, and existential questions are inseparably linked.
