Prayer evening with Abbot Lukas

Prayer is the breathing of the soul. Just as the body needs oxygen to live, the soul needs prayer to remain vital and strong.
This evening of prayer, organised with songs, listening to the word of God, time for silence and free prayer, aims to offer a "breathing space" in the midst of often hectic everyday life.
Mechthild of Magdeburg, a medieval mystic, writes about prayer:
Prayer has great power:
It makes a bitter heart sweet,
a sorrowful heart glad,
a poor heart wise,
a discouraged heart bold,
a weak heart seeing, a cold heart warm.
It draws the great God into the small heart.
It drives the hungry soul to the fullness of God.
It brings together two lovers:
God and man.
