A linguistically, musically and electronically subversive rollercoaster ride through the abysses of a classic - irreverent and yet full of love for sublime poetry and its own truth, as ‘Theater Heute’ calls it. When Philipp Hochmair brings his acclaimed Jedermann Reloaded project to the stage, no soul remains untouched. At the Festwochen Open Air 2025, he will once again transform Toscanapark Gmunden into a stage for an electrifying literary experience that interprets Hugo von Hofmannsthal's classic in a completely new way: ‘I have dared to combine rock music and this play. The audience experiences a rock concert and a very serious evening of theatre at the same time,’ explains the artist. Hochmair is supported by the outstanding band members: Tobias Herzz Hallbauer (guitars/sampler), Jörg Schittkowski (synthesiser, electronics, theremin), Bastien Eifler (drums & trash), Rajko Gohlke (electronics, drum machine).

A rock star as Everyman

In a passionate tour de force, Philipp Hochmair slips into all the roles of the play and transforms the 100-year-old mystery play into a rousing, contemporary performance. Accompanied by his band ‘Die Elektrohand Gottes’ - with guitar riffs, experimental sounds and hypnotic beats - Everyman becomes the rock star of our time: a driven man who risks everything between greed, intoxication and the existential question, ‘What remains of my life?’.
