A unique natural spectacle Snowshoe Hike to the 5-Fingers and World Hertigage Spiral

In winter, the wind forms a bizarre snowy landscape, from which mighty mountain shapes and individual mountain pine peaks emerge.

At 10:00 am, meeting point at the valley station of the Krippenstein cable car and at 1:00 pm at the Krippenstein mountain station, section II Duration approx. 1 hour and 50 min, pure walking time approx. 90 min. afterwards free time 

The tour also takes place in bad weather. If the visibility conditions on the Krippenstein do not allow a snowshoe hike, we will switch to medium altitudes (Gjaidalm). Further information on registration  

On this guided snowshoe hike you will explore the fascinating karst landscape on the Dachstein Krippenstein.

Enjoy the marvellous panoramic view over endless expanses, the glacier and the high peaks of the Dachstein massif.

Characteristics of the snowshoe hike

The snowshoe hike takes around 5 hours in total, of which you can expect 3 - 3.5  hours of pure walking time with around 400 metres of ascent.

This winter activity can also be mastered by people who have little or no experience with snowshoes.

The right equipment for your winter activity

• Sturdy hiking boots

• Snowshoes*

• Telescopic* or ski poles*

• Backpack, thermos flask with hot drink, snack

• Warm clothing: Ski underwear, ski socks, fleece jumper, softshell jacket, warm (Goretex) jacket, warm outdoor trousers (not cotton trousers), hat, gloves, sunglasses and sun cream

(*can be borrowed for a fee)

The guided snowshoe tour on the Dachstein Krippenstein takes place on the set dates and on request.
