St. Barbara and other remarkable people

The state-certified austriaguides Maria Samhaber-Mattonet and Elisabeth Kröll present the history of the largest Catholic cemetery in Upper Austria during the walks and know a lot about the changing ways people have dealt with death and burial.

The patron saint of the dying, St. Barbara, is present at the cemetery of the same name in various ways - there is even a room dedicated to her, the Barbara Room, artistically designed by Margit Hartnagel. A Gothic statue of Barbara can also be found there.
There are many graves of famous and successful people from past centuries at St. Barbara's Cemetery in Linz.
