When the ice crystals glitter on the branches, we experience the magic of winter with all of our senses. On our guided snowshoe hikes you can enjoy physical activity in the fresh air and learn the secrets of winter.
Healthy exercise
Snowshoeing combines two gentle sports: on the one hand Nordic walking - rhythmic walking with hiking sticks, on the other hand hiking - in wintry conditions. The name-giving and necessary aid on tours through deep snow is of course the snowshoes themselves.
This form of winter activity is rightly enjoying increasing popularity. In addition to enjoying nature, treat yourself to excellent endurance training with positive effects on your cardiovascular system.
Welcome change
Our adventure hikes deliberately offer you an attractive alternative to conventional winter sports. Safely guided, you can enjoy the silence and beauty of the cold season comfortably and relaxed.
Away from the hustle and bustle and the usual hustle and bustle on the slopes, the balancing exercise in the great outdoors gives you relaxation and distance from everyday life.
Entry for young and old
Together we hike on snowshoes through snow-covered forests, meadows and over gentle heights. On our family-friendly tours, we convey a lot of important and useful information about being out and about in winter to the participants.
The routes chosen are also ideal for beginners; children can take part from the age of 8. Knowledge of skiing or alpine skiing is not required to participate.
Not included:
Please note: The tour can only be booked if accompanied by at least one child who is registered on the Upper Austrian Family Card.
Arriving by train is uncomplicated.
The Spital am Pyhrn train station is a 5-minute walk from the meeting point.
If you use this option, please inform us in good time - we will organize a ride or taxi for you to the respective starting point of the tour.
If there is enough snow, we start right at the meeting point.
Sufficient parking spaces are available at the meeting point!
Dress warmly, but in several layers according to the "onion skin principle". In this way, the heating effect can be adapted to the conditions at any time.
Hat and gloves: They keep those parts of the body warm that would otherwise lose a large part of the heat.
Sun and cold protection for all exposed parts of the body (face, nose, ears). Good sunglasses are especially important in winter!
As waterproof as possible, but breathable shoes with good insulation: mountain boots or winter boots with a good grip are suitable.
Pack enough to drink, because the loss of fluids is enormous during sweat-inducing activities. Insulated drinking systems make drinking on the go particularly easy.
