Schick Sisters & Opus Band
Only a few artists are fortunate enough to write a worldwide hit that is recognized and celebrated 40 years after its release. Opus achieved this with their 1984 hit “Live is Life.” The song became a number-one hit in countries such as Germany, Austria, Sweden, and France. Due to its success, the song also received a Gold record in the UK and the USA. The band, led by mastermind Ewald “Sunny” Pfleger, has long since reached cult status beyond Austria's borders; after countless years of touring and recording, they decided on a farewell tour in 2021, which ended with a spectacular concert at the Graz Opera.
However, even without singer Herwig Rüdisser, the joy of playing and longing for the stage remained undiminished among the rest of the original Opus band. The Schick Sisters and the Opus Band got to know each other at the legendary Opus concerts in the Graz Opera and decided to continue their musical collaboration.
Christine, Katharina, and Veronika grew up as siblings with "secondary language music," playing all instruments with enchanting ease and have developed the magic of their shared voices into a multifaceted cosmos. In combination with the Opus Band, whose members approach their work with unbridled passion & joy of playing, this unique blend of exceptional musicians creates a concert experience that should not be missed!
Audiences can expect concerts by the “Schick Sisters & Opus Band” to feature songs from the band's first joint album along with a selection of the greatest Opus hits such as “Live is Life,” “Flying High,” “Eleven,” and many more.
Currently, the joint version of the Opus hit “Live Is Life” is being heard as the official song of the Women's Handball European Championship 2024. Additionally, the joint live album “Schick Sisters Celebrate Opus” was released on June 7, 2024. And for 2025, a multitude of concert highlights is also planned.
