Guest concert by the Frysk Jeugd Orkest in the music pavilion on the lakeside promenade in Strobl with conductor Douwe Nauta.
The Frisian Youth Orchestra was founded in 1977 and consists of a group of young and enthusiastic amateur musicians. The orchestra has a symphonic line-up of about sixty members. The Frysk Youth Orchestra works on the basis of four core values: enjoyment, cooperation, discipline and development. Our aim is to offer young musicians from Friesland a platform where they can experience the joy of making music together in a symphony orchestra. The Frisian Youth Orchestra also aims to inspire each and every member of the orchestra to develop further and to enjoy making music together. The orchestra regularly gives concerts in Friesland and other parts of the Netherlands. It has also toured extensively in the United States, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, France, Croatia and Slovenia. In addition to the symphonic repertoire, film music and musical theater works are also regularly on the program. In 2006, the Frysk Youth Orchestra won the main prize at the first national competition for youth symphony orchestras, and in 2015 the orchestra won first prize in the category "Youth Orchestra - Large Symphony Orchestra". The Frysk Youth Orchestra also won first prize at the national orchestra competition in 2024. In the same year, the orchestra undertook its most recent concert tour to Croatia and Slovenia.Program:
