The Schütz Art Museum is pleased to invite you to an extraordinary event:

"111 Orte in Kärnten gesehen in Kärnten". Franz Hlavac will give a reading from their two books

"111 places in Carinthia that you must have seen"
"111 places in Friuli and Julian Veneto that you must have seen"

at the Schütz Art Café in our house (Nibelungenstraße 36, A-4090 Engelhartszell).

Discover with Dr Franz Hlavac and Dr Gisela Hopfmüller the region of Carinthia in Austria, but also the geographically neighbouring Friuli and Julian Veneto in Italy from a side that will surprise even connoisseurs.

The author reading complements the programme of the Schütz Art Museum, whose current exhibitions are dedicated to the artist Werner Berg - Selected Works, Life and Death, who is rooted in the southern Carinthia region and will be on display until 29 September 2024. September 2024, and the Veneto-based artist Friedrich Eigner "Chiaroscuro", which opens on 29 May 2024.

The Friuli-Venezia Giulia region, the north-easternmost part of Italy with the capital Trieste, stretches from the heights of the Julian and Carnic Alps and the Friulian Dolomites across the hills to the plains and lagoons of the coastal areas. You can travel to the sea and hike in the Karst, stroll through beautiful towns and follow historical traces, experience cultural treasures and indulge in excellent wine... So there are many reasons to explore the north-east of Italy, which borders directly on Carinthia. Lightning-blue lakes, fascinating mountains, cultural treasures and friendly hospitality - Carinthia is known for all these things.

Franz Hlavac and Gisela Hopfmüller pay homage to special regions of Europe that are hard to beat in terms of versatility with their books. The two authors have a lot to tell about two charming regions in Europe. They are enthusiastic about the diversity and inspire extraordinary travel experiences.

The couple, who have been married since 1997, have had a second home in Friuli-Venezia Giulia since 2002. They are recognised experts for this region, which is synonymous with cultural richness, scenic diversity and pure culinary delights.
