World Heritage - Environment Day Bad Goisern

This year's World Heritage Environment Day will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2026 at the biomass heating plant in Stambach and at the sewage treatment plant in Anzenau.

In recent years, the wastewater treatment plant has been expanded from 22,000 to 33,000 PE and a number of projects relating to energy efficiency and the production of renewable energy have been implemented.

On the grounds of the sewage treatment plant in Anzenau, visitors can view the wastewater treatment facilities and the energy optimization measures that have been implemented.
The activities of the sewer operation with regard to monitoring and operational safety of the wastewater discharge, as well as the current renaturation of the Traun, will also be presented.

In addition to important information about the sewage treatment plant, there will be an opportunity to try out archery at the nearby archery range of the Salzkammergut Archery Club.

Holzwärme Bad Goisern will also be opening its doors at the biomass heating plant in Stambach.

Interested members of the public will have the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of one of the largest cooperatively organized biomass heating suppliers in Austria.

Catering will be provided at both venues and the biomass heating plant and sewage treatment plant will be connected to the Goisern environmental bus free of charge on the day of the event.
